Regulation 10 of HSE Control of Asbestos Regulations states that Abestos awareness training is required to be given to employees whose work could forseeably expose them to asbestos. In particular it should be given to all demolition workers and those workes in refurbishment, maintenance and allied trades.
What should you look for in choosing your training provider ?
A registered member of UKATA will ensure that your training provider will have been audited to a standard that guarantees the HSE Approved Code of Practice L143 has been adhered to;
Experience working within the asbestos industry, particularly in surveying buildings, for a minimum of 3 years;
Training that is tailored to your specific trade or industry;
Ask for sight of your training provider's "Assessment Sheets" completed by previous delegates, see how they rated the value and proessionalism of the training given.
